PERM OPERA BALLET, its full official name in Russia is the Tchaikovsky Perm State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. The company blends Russian classical academicism with neo-classical creative energy. GZHEL
"GZHEL" FOLK BALLET was founded in 1988 by the famous choreographer Vladimir Zakharov. The Theatre works in two styles: national-scenic dance and classic ballet. Each production brings together bright fragments of the traditions, crafts and lives of the people of Russia. The repertoire of the theatre is regularly updated with new productions, created by the chief choreographer of the theatre Valentina Slykhanova.
IGOR MOISEYEV BALLET
Igor Moiseyev State Academic Ensemble of Popular Dance was established in 1937 as a first professional folk dancing company in the world. Its founder is an outstanding Russian ballet-master and choreographer Igor Moiseyev.
Since 1940 the Company is based in Moscow as a resident at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall.
Beryozka Ballet
The State Academic Choreographic Ensemble “Beryozka”) was founded in 1948 by the outstanding dancer and choreographer Nadezhda Nadezhdina.
The name of the ensemble is taken from the first production of the Russian girls’ round dance, called the Khorovod, Little Birch (Beryozka) staged in 1948 to the music of the Russian folk round-dance song “A Little Birch Stood in the Field.” The women of the ensemble holding birch twigs in their hands, personifying the image of the Russian girl, her purity, beauty, and grace, performed the dance.
Beryozka have traveled over 80 countries. Touring of Beryozka is always accompanied by a triumphant success and brings the team international recognition.
